SDEM ERECTORS NIGERIA LIMITED (SDEM) was founded in 1981 by GEC Alstom Group of France as a turnkey industrial contractor for structural steel fabrication, industrial erection, mechanical piping and large scale water supply.
In 24 years of operating in Nigeria, SDEM has built some of the most complex industrial installation in Nigeria where it has deployed its considerable local infrastructure and equipment inventory.
Based on its solid reputation of engineering excellence, SDEM has extended its service delivery to the Telecommunication sector, through the construction of base stations for GSM operators and PTO for their national roll-out programs.
In December 2004, Global Energy Company acquired majority shares (90%) of SDEM, effectively making her a Nigerian Indigenous company. Meanwhile, the French family retain 10% and a seat on the board of Directors of SDEM. |
